Fixes
- Unreal Engine 5.5 and 5.6 compatibility fixes.
v1.1.8 (July 2, 2026)
Landscape generation (new)
- Generate real-world terrain from a place description — Nwiro pulls elevation data and builds a heightmap-based landscape directly in your level.
Onboarding (new)
- Guided first-run experience with interactive demos for Blueprint, Biome, and HDRI that replay a real generation step by step, without spending any credits.
Custom tools (new)
- Third-party Unreal plugins can now expose their own tools to Nwiro with a single
UFUNCTIONtag — no Nwiro dependency, and they appear in chat automatically.
Tool sources (new)
- New Settings → Tool Sources: enable or disable tools by source (Built-in / Unreal Engine / Plugins). On UE 5.8, Unreal’s native MCP tools are imported and shown here, off by default.
Interface
- Refreshed light theme colors; sidebar and editor panels overlay cleanly on smaller windows.
v1.1.7 (June 21, 2026)
Engine support
- Unreal Engine 5.8 support — now covering 5.5 through 5.8.
HDRI generation
- Create an HDRI from an uploaded image, not just a text prompt.
- Faster iteration: refine a panorama in place, or branch a new variation from it.
- HDRI sessions survive editor and app restarts, so you can come back and keep refining.
- Smoother preview cards with clearer progress.
Chat & workflow
- Plan continuation: when the AI proposes a multi-step plan, you confirm before it runs.
Material tools
- Clearer errors when editing materials, so the AI recovers from unknown properties instead of failing silently.
v1.1.6 (June 8, 2026)
HDRI generation
- Generate HDRI environment backdrops from a text prompt — baked in-editor and imported as ready-to-use textures in your project.
Blueprint visualization
- New
render_blueprint_graphtool: the AI can render any Blueprint graph to an image to see what it built. - New
organize_blueprint_nodestool: auto-arranges graph nodes along execution flow — no more overlapping spaghetti.
Widget (UMG) tooling
- New
render_widget_blueprinttool: preview any UMG widget as an image. - 20+ new widget types supported (ListView, TreeView, ComboBox, WidgetSwitcher, ScaleBox, and more).
- Widgets can now be added with properties and layout (anchors, position, size) in a single step; property editing understands many more shorthand names.
- UMG nodes in Blueprint graphs: CreateWidget, AddToViewport, SetText, SetPercent and friends now wire up correctly.
Blueprint improvements
- Smarter node and class name matching: cast nodes, math operators, and array functions resolve from natural shorthand.
- Edits report the blueprint’s resulting state and suggest next steps, so the AI completes multi-step builds more reliably.
- Created and edited blueprints are saved to disk reliably and survive editor restarts.
PCG
- New
add_pcg_nodetool: build PCG graphs node by node with friendly type names (StaticMeshSpawner, SurfaceSampler, …). - Safer generation: empty graphs are caught with a helpful message instead of crashing the editor; volume targeting is more forgiving.
Stability
- Many editor crash fixes: asset creation conflicts, Blueprint thumbnails, GAS asset listing, DataTable JSON export, and quitting the editor with the panel open.
- Asset search returns up to 50 results and now includes freshly created, not-yet-saved assets.
v1.1.5 (May 27, 2026)
Extensions
- ElevenLabs added: generate voices and sound effects from text inside the editor panel.

Nwiro Integration Kit
v1.0.13 (September 25, 2026)
Claude
- Opus now selects Claude Opus 5.5. Requires Claude Code 2.1.280 or newer; older versions still run Opus 5.
- The first model in the Claude menu is now labelled Default instead of Sonnet. It runs Claude Code’s own default model, which is Opus 5.5 on Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise and API accounts from Claude Code 2.1.280.
Codex
- GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna can now be selected for Codex on the official runtime.
- Managed Codex runtime updated to codex-acp 1.13.1 (Codex CLI 0.156.1). A previously installed managed runtime is left in place but no longer used: Settings → Integrations → Codex shows Install again; click it once.
- On an older Codex runtime, the GPT-6 models are shown disabled with the runtime version they need.
- GPT-5.4 and GPT-5.4 Mini are no longer offered by the official Codex runtime and are shown disabled wherever it runs; older macOS plugins on the legacy runtime keep them.
- Tools from other MCP servers (for example GitHub, or any server in your Codex configuration) now work under Codex. They follow the chat mode like Nwiro’s own tools: Default shows a permission card, Bypass runs them, Plan refuses them. Before, they were blocked as shell commands in every mode.
- Tools that run code, such as node_repl, always ask for permission, even in Bypass.
- A read-only tool that Codex runs without asking, or a refused tool call, no longer ends the turn.
- pie_console_command no longer ends the turn after it runs.
macOS
- Codex runs on the official runtime on macOS too, so the new models are available there.
- Apple Silicon Macs now download the arm64 Claude and Local LLM adapters. An Intel build installed by an earlier version is flagged in Settings → Integrations with a one-click reinstall.
- Adapters start reliably on Unreal Engine 5.5 and 5.6.
General
- pie_console_command is no longer refused as a shell command under Claude.
- Changes made by tools can be undone (Ctrl+Z) and are marked as unsaved.
- Safer file access: the agent can read only files inside your project and the engine folders, and downloaded packages are checked before they are extracted.
- Local LLM tool-call fixes (LM Studio).
- Image-only messages can be sent.
- Play In Editor tool fixes.
- Supported platforms: Windows and macOS.
v1.0.12 (September 7, 2026)
Codex
- GPT-6 Astra can now be selected for Codex on the official runtime (Windows).
- Managed Codex runtime updated to codex-acp 1.10.0 (Codex CLI 0.153.4). A previously installed managed runtime is left in place but no longer used: Settings → Integrations → Codex shows Install again; click it once.
- File edits from the newer Codex runtime ask for permission again in the default chat mode; shell commands stay blocked by Nwiro.
- Background tasks started by Codex are shown in the chat as they start and finish.
v1.0.11 (August 10, 2026)
Chat fixes
- General fixes to chat behavior.
Tool display fixes
- Tool name display fixed for tools served from different tool servers, such as Unreal’s own tools.
- Tool badges match the agent runtime that actually ran the tool.
Permission fixes
- Problematic permission requests fixed.
v1.0.10 (August 3, 2026)
Codex
- New Codex ACP runtime: GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, and Luna can now be selected for Codex.
Fixes
- Unreal Engine 5.8 startup reliability.
- A local model is marked active only after it finishes warming up, so chat no longer starts before the model can answer.
- Interface fixes across settings and chat.
v1.0.9 (July 14, 2026)
Reliability
- General stability and polish.
v1.0.8 (July 2, 2026)
Custom tools (new)
- Third-party Unreal plugins can expose their own tools to Nwiro with a single
UFUNCTIONtag — zero Nwiro dependency, auto-discovered in chat.
Tool sources (new)
- New Settings → Tool Sources: enable or disable tools by source (Built-in / Unreal Engine / Plugins). UE 5.8 native MCP tools are imported and off by default.
Shell command safety (new)
- A shell-command policy classifies commands by risk and blocks obfuscated or dangerous ones (encoded commands, pipe-to-interpreter). Enforced at the permission prompt and again at execution; fails closed on anything unknown.
Landscape tools
- New landscape tools in the tool surface (create and edit heightmap-based landscapes).
Reliability
- More reliable Local LLM connector download.
v1.0.7 (June 21, 2026)
Local LLM (new)
- Run a self-hosted, OpenAI-compatible model right in the editor chat: Ollama, LM Studio, or llama.cpp. Download the Local LLM connector, point it at your endpoint, and pick a model.
- OpenRouter support (beta): route chat through OpenRouter with your own API key for access to many models.
- Smaller models stay reliable: the tool set is tuned automatically so lightweight models keep calling tools correctly.
Engine support
- Unreal Engine 5.8 support — now covering 5.5 through 5.8.
Chat & workflow
- Plan continuation: when the AI proposes a multi-step plan, you confirm before it runs.
v1.0.6 (June 8, 2026)
Session resume
- Chat sessions now survive editor restarts: reopen the editor and continue where you left off (with adapters that support session loading).
Blueprint visualization
- New
render_blueprint_graphtool: render any Blueprint graph to an image. - New
organize_blueprint_nodestool: auto-arrange graph nodes along execution flow.
Widget (UMG) tooling
- New
render_widget_blueprinttool: preview any UMG widget as an image. - 20+ new widget types supported (ListView, TreeView, ComboBox, WidgetSwitcher, ScaleBox, and more).
- Widgets can be added with properties and layout (anchors, position, size) in one step; property editing understands many more shorthand names.
- UMG nodes in Blueprint graphs: CreateWidget, AddToViewport, SetText, SetPercent and friends now wire up correctly.
Blueprint improvements
- Smarter node and class name matching: cast nodes, math operators, and array functions resolve from natural shorthand.
- Edits report the blueprint’s resulting state and suggest next steps for more reliable multi-step builds.
- Created and edited blueprints are saved to disk reliably and survive editor restarts.
PCG
- New
add_pcg_nodetool: build PCG graphs node by node with friendly type names. - Safer generation: empty graphs caught with a helpful message instead of crashing; volume targeting more forgiving.
Reliability
- Tool calls no longer hang indefinitely when the editor is busy (PIE start, modal dialogs, slow imports) — they time out cleanly and recover.
- Fixed editor crashes when quitting with the panel open.
- Asset search returns up to 50 results and includes freshly created, not-yet-saved assets.
v1.0.5 (May 27, 2026)
Extensions
- ElevenLabs added: generate voices and sound effects from text inside the editor panel.
- fal added: tileable PBR material generation from text or images — bring drop-in textures straight into the editor.
Material tools
- Significantly broader coverage of material expressions, parameter editing, and graph editing.
Blueprint improvements
- AI edits across Blueprint, Material, Animation, Sequencer, Widget, and Data tools are now grouped into single undo transactions — Ctrl+Z reverts each tool call cleanly in one step.
Input
- Chinese, Japanese, and Korean IME composition now works correctly in the embedded chat panel.
Adapter downloads
- More reliable in-app downloads: better progress reporting and recovery on slow or interrupted connections.
v1.0.4 (May 14, 2026)
Platform support
- macOS support added: full editor integration on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
Adapter discovery
- Versioned Claude Code installs are picked up correctly: walks
<install>/Claude/claude-code/<X.Y.Z>/claude.exepaths and selects the highest valid semver instead of the first one it finds. - Adapter download configuration refreshed: tracks the latest published claude-agent-acp / codex-acp release assets per platform.
Bridge connection
- More resilient bridge startup and reconnection: clearer status reporting, faster recovery when the adapter restarts mid-session.
- Chat reconnect: stale sessions are dropped cleanly so the next prompt starts on a fresh adapter session instead of hanging.
Tools
- Level tools fix: cleaner error reporting when a tool runs against an unloaded or stale level.
General
- Localization polish (app side).
- Misc UI and stability fixes.
v1.0.3 (May 7, 2026)
Languages
- Five new languages added: Japanese, Korean, French, Polish, Italian. Total of 11 supported languages.
Blueprint tooling
edit_blueprintnow normalizes common LLM shorthand keys and rejects unknown fields with a helpful error so the AI can self-correct.
Codex adapter
- ACP
rawOutputparsing fixed: tool results that arrive as objects are no longer mangled into “[object Object]” before display.
Claude adapter
- Windows path normalization fix in the ACP
session/newrequest: the project directory is sent with forward slashes and no trailing slash, so claude-agent-acp no longer fails to parse the JSON on certain Windows setups.
v1.0.2 (May 1, 2026)
MCP server
- Bearer token authentication removed: loopback-only HTTP binding is now the security boundary, matching the industry pattern used by VS Code LSPs, Docker daemon, and most local dev servers. External MCP clients (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity) connect with no extra config.
- Manual install guide added to docs: covers the case where the in-app Download fails due to network or firewall restrictions.
Blueprint tooling
- Pin and class resolution: more permissive matching, better fuzzy fallbacks.
- Compile error diagnostics: per-node errors include input and output pin names so the AI can self-correct without a second round trip.
- Schema coverage: broader handling of Niagara, PCG, StateTree, and Animation node families.
Chat prompts
- New blueprint-focused chat prompts: clearer guidance for graph editing, asset creation, and debugging flows.
v1.0.1 (April 23, 2026)
Models
- Claude Opus 4.7 added: 1M context, latest Anthropic flagship.
Tool surface
- UE 5.5 widget tool compatibility: API version guard for
WidgetVariableNameToGuidMap. - Blueprint tools: better
edit_blueprinterror recovery; node refs and pin names returned on failure for self-correction. - Material tools: cleaner expression creation, broader pin support, blend-mode / shading-model setters.
Permissions & sandbox
- Protected rails: destructive ops (write, delete, rename, PIE, widget wipe) always gated, even in Bypass mode.
- Path sandbox: file tools restricted to project directory; absolute paths outside the project rejected.
- Per-tool permission cache: Claude vs Codex don’t leak approvals into each other.
Integrations panel
- Adapters auto-activate after download: no extra Activate click; you can still deactivate manually.
- CLI detection badge: shows whether
claudeorcodexis on PATH.
Settings → MCP
